The Indian Premier League announced that it had fined the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab US$ 1,000 for slow over rate for the game played in Hyderabad on 1st May 2008.
Lalit Modi, Chairman & Commissioner, DLF Indian Premier League also announced that any team bowling a slow over rate would be fined US $ 500 per over, which would be decided by the match referee.
